It was a perfect Sunday for the fans as Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was host to two brilliant games. The first game took place between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Jaipur whereas the second match took place between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Chennai.
Talking about the first game, RCB kept their hopes alive to qualify for the playoffs. They displayed a staggering effort with both bat and ball and thumped the Sanju Samson-led side by massive 112 runs to make a vital climb in the points table.

In the second game, CSK opted to bat first but they struggled to get going on what seemed a slow pitch. Devon Conway at the top managed 30 runs whereas Shivam Dube contributed with the vital unbeaten 48-run knock, that powered CSK to a total of just 144 runs. For KKR, Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 2/15 whereas Varun Chakravarthy also picked two wickets.

While chasing the target, KKR lost three quick wickets in Rahmanullah Gurbaz (1), Venkatesh Iyer (9), and Jason Roy (12) early which saw them tumbling at 33/3. But after that skipper Nitish Rana (56*) and Rinku Singh (54) joined hands perfectly and stitched a 99-run partnership to take their side home by 6
wickets and keep their hopes alive for the playoffs.

IPL 2023 Updated Points Table

After the 60th and 61st games of the IPL 2023, there were quite a few changes in the points table. Royal Challengers Bangalore climbed to the 5th spot on the points table whereas Kolkata Knight Riders settled at No.7. Rajasthan Royals was dropped to No.6 while the upper half of the table remained the same.

Faf du Plessis and Yashasvi Jaiswal retained the top two places at the top of the Orange Cap table. Whereas Devon Conway climbed to No.3 after his knock against KKR. Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill were dropped by one step each.
IPL 2023 Purple Cap

Despite going wicketless, Yuzvendra Chahal retained his No.2 Spot on the points table. There was just a little change in the purple cap table as Varun Chakravarthy after his two wickets pipped Tushar Deshpande to enter the top 5 charts.
