IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, And Purple Cap After SRH vs LSG Match 58 And DC vs PBKS Match 59

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw two fantastic games being played. The first game took place between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium whereas the second game saw Delhi Capitals (DC) locking horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

The first game saw the Lucknow Super Giants thumping Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets to enter the top 4 on the points table. Batting first, the home side on account of vital contributions from Anmolpreet Singh (36), Heinrich Klaasen (47), and Abdul Samad (37) posted a total of 182 runs on the board. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 2/24.

Chasing the target, LSG tumbled a bit but Prerak Mankad (64) held the fort before Marcus Stoinis (40) and Nicholas Pooran (44*) blasted staggering cameos to help their side win the game by 7 wickets.

The second saw PBKS batting first. Their whole batting lineup collapsed but youngster Prabhsimran Singh set the stage on fire. The keeper batter smashed a wonderful century and ended with a knock of 103 runs that helped them post a total of 167 runs. Ishant Sharma was the pick of the bowlers as he took 2 wickets and returned with the figures of 2/27.

Chasing the target, DC was off the flier as David Warner (54) and Phil Salt (21) smashed 69 runs for the opening partnership. But after that, PBKS spinners Harpreet Brar (4/30) and Rahul Chahar (2/26) wreaked havoc across the DC’s batting lineup and reduced them to 136/8.

IPL 2023 Updated Points Table

After the 59th game of the IPL 2023, there were quite a few changes in the points table. Lucknow Super Giants after their win over Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to the no.4 spot. Whereas Punjab Kings after a win over Delhi Capitals jumped to No.6 points. RR were dropped to No.5 while RCB too fell one step below.

The orange Cap table didn’t change after the two games on Saturday. Faf du Plessis and Yashasvi Jaiswal continued leading at the top with 576 and 575 runs. Whereas Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Devon Conway retained their places.

There wasn’t also no change in the purple cap department as well after the 59th game. Rashid Khan continued leading the charts with Yuzvendra Chahal,  Mohammad Shami, Piyush Chawla, and Tushar Deshpande retaining their places.
