IND vs WI: Watch – Mukesh Kumar Receives Debut Cap From Ravichandran Ashwin In Trinidad
The 29-year-old Bengal right-arm pacer Mukesh Kumar made his India debut in the second Test of the two-match series against Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on Thursday, July 20.
The clash between India and West Indies is a historic one as this is the 100th Test between the two teams. Among the 99 Tests so far, West Indies have won 30 and India have won 23, while 46 have been draws. However, the West Indies have been winless against the Men In Blue in the last 21 years.

Mukesh Kumar received his debut Test cap from the veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who is regarded as one of the greatest spinners in the world in Test cricket.
Mukesh Kumar didn’t feature in the first Test of the series. However, a niggle to Shardul Thakur meant that the pace-bowling all-rounder made way for Mukesh Kumar in the second Test. Notably, Shardul Thakur was not available for selection for the second Test due to a sore left groin.
Meanwhile, Indian players were together in a huddle before the commencement of the match and Ashwin handed the debut cap to the pacer after sharing some words of encouragement.

The Bengal pacer Mukesh got his India call-up after his sensational performances in Fist-class cricket. In 39 First-class games, the pacer bagged 149 wickets at an average of 21.55, an economy of 2.70, and a strike rate of 47.7. He also bagged 8 four-wicket hauls and 6 five-wicket hauls in First-class cricket.
